2011 PJ Library Conference

About 175 PJ Library program professionals gather in Baltimore.

ABOUT 175 PROGRAM PROFESSIONALS and others will gather for the third annual conference of The PJ Library on Sunday, April 3 to Tuesday, April 5. The program professionals will enjoy networking opportunities and training for improved program facilitation. Over 20 workshops, panels, and networking sessions will be offered.

The conference will be hosted at the Pearlstone Conference and Retreat Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

KEY GUESTS

The 2011 PJ Library Conference will present attendees with a full lineup of program-related sessions and events. Here are several of the conference's key presenters:

  • KEYNOTE ADDRESS -- The conference's keynote address will be delivered by early reading expert Diane Frankenstein, author of Reading Together: Everything You Need to Know to Raise a Child Who Loves to Read.

  • JEWISH EARLY ENGAGEMENT -- Mark Rosen, a researcher at Brandeis University's Hornstein Jewish Professional Leadership Program, will present his findings on the subject of Jewish early engagement.

  • MUSIC AS A MESSAGE -- Musician Rick Recht will present his idea that Jewish music can develop Jewish pride and identity among youth and families.

  • ISRAELI MINISTRY OF EDUCATION -- Two members of the Israeli Ministry of Education, Moshe Decalo and Sima Haddad Ma Yafit, will also attend the event to learn more about The PJ Library operations in North America as the sister program in Hebrew, Sifriyat Pijama, expands in Israel.
