Fund A Community
BY ALL ACCOUNTS, the PJ Library program is a fabulous success. It now includes more than 165 communities, with demand for participation increasing.
Though the Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF) underwrites more than 50 percent of the total costs of this free books and music program, there are still many communities with long waiting lists of families who want to participate. There are also many communities interested in bringing PJ Library to their local families, but do not yet have the necessary funding.
Give Your Community PJ Library
There are many reasons for funding the PJ Library program in your area: a commitment to Jewish continuity, the wish to help engage younger generations of Jews, the desire to create a Jewish legacy for one's children and grandchildren, and many other reasons.
HGF has done the research, chosen the books and CDs, and established the infrastructure to make it easy to bring PJ Library to your Jewish community.
Become an Implementing Partner by financing the cost of materials and mailings for families in your local area -- just $40 per subscription per year ($50 in Canada). HGF will cover all overhead and administrative costs, coordinate monthly distributions, and provide training for implementing the program. HGF will also subsidize the salary of a local Program Professional and provide your community with a marketing allowance.
The PJ Library program will be advertised as a gift from your community.
Different Funding Structures
Often, the local Implementing Partners are able to fund a significant portion of the program; they may allocate funds from their own budget and/or choose to raise the funds specifically for the PJ Library program. In other cases, funding comes through the collaborative efforts of the organizations as well as one or more philanthropists. The PJ Library North American home office will help you develop a funding plan that works best for your community.
