The PJ Library® sends free, high quality books and music to families with young children (ages 6 months to five and a half years) once a month. Thanks to the generosity of the Jim Joseph Foundation and the JCF Endowment Fund, we have the resources to provide books to over 5,000 children this year in three Bay Area regions: San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties to Sunnyvale, the East Bay and Silicon Valley.

There is a palpable buzz in our communities about The PJ Library®. We have received hundreds of calls and sign-ups throughout the Bay Area. Each region is working on cooperative PJ programs with Jewish institutions like the Jewish Family and Children’s Services, JCC’s and more. Please visit our national website at http://www.pjlibrary.org/ for more information.

In addition to expanding The PJ Library® in the San Francisco Federation Service Area, we have received funding from the Jewish Community Endowment Fund to do programming for families with young children beyond the books. The funding will go toward leveraging The PJ Library® by not only providing free books and music to families each month, but also by establishing a greater connection for families to peers and communal agencies.
